Automatic "Keep Full" Delivery

Discuss scheduled refills, how usage changes are reported and what you need to monitor between deliveries.

Peace of Mind All Winter

A keep-full arrangement schedules refills using the information available about your property and fuel use. Ask how scheduling works for your account and report changes that could increase consumption. Scheduled delivery should not be treated as a guarantee against running out.

  • Confirm monitoring responsibilitiesAsk what readings or usage changes you should report.
  • Discuss run-out proceduresConfirm inspection arrangements and any charges if gas service is interrupted.
  • Plan storm accessReport blocked or unsafe access and confirm delivery arrangements.

How Do We Know When to Deliver?

Delivery programs can use consumption history, weather information or tank-monitor readings. Confirm which method applies to your account and how to report an unexpectedly low level. Estimates cannot account for every change in appliance use or occupancy.

"I haven't looked at my propane gauge in two years. They just show up when we need it." — Robert D., Peyton, CO

Understand a Keep-Full Arrangement

Scheduled delivery is different from a run-out guarantee

Automatic delivery is intended to reduce the need to place every refill order yourself. Before choosing it, ask how the account is scheduled, whether a tank monitor is used and what information you still need to report. Do not assume that every program includes remote monitoring, fixed pricing or a guarantee against running out.

Compare the arrangement with will-call delivery. Will-call requires you to initiate each order; a scheduled program requires the supplier to have an accurate picture of consumption and reliable access. The better choice depends on how the property is used, not just the label of the program.

Report changes that affect fuel use

Share the tank size, current level, previous consumption if available and the appliances connected to the system. Tell the supplier when people move in, a property changes from seasonal to full-time use, a thermostat setting changes substantially or a new appliance is connected. A heating history may not capture an extended generator outage or new demand in an outbuilding.

Ask how to report an unexpectedly low reading and whether the supplier recommends periodic gauge checks. A sudden change should be discussed promptly rather than waiting for the next scheduled visit. If you suspect a leak, follow the propane safety guide; scheduling questions are secondary to getting to safety.

Confirm the practical and financial terms

Review who authorizes fills, how invoices are paid, whether minimum use or account conditions apply and how to pause service when a property is vacant. Ask what happens if a gate is locked or the truck cannot safely reach the tank. Scheduling is only useful when the delivery can actually take place.

Discuss the available price structure separately from the delivery schedule. Automatic delivery does not by itself establish a fixed rate or budget plan. The pricing guide provides a starting point for quote questions. Browse the residential propane category and service overview for other options.

To discuss your property, call (719) 660-6081. Confirm availability, the quoted scope and any applicable terms directly. The contact page also lists the existing email option and the details to have ready.

Understand a Keep-Full Arrangement: Questions

Is automatic delivery the same as a tank monitor?
Not necessarily. Ask whether scheduling uses consumption estimates, a physical monitor or another method, and who responds to a low reading. Equipment and program terms need to be confirmed.
Do I need to report a new generator or appliance?
Yes—tell the supplier about changed consumption and have a qualified professional assess any system changes. Existing delivery history alone may not reflect the additional demand.
Does automatic delivery fix the price of propane?
The delivery schedule and pricing agreement are separate. Confirm whether a price program is available and review its terms rather than assuming a scheduled fill has a fixed rate.
What should I do if my gauge is unexpectedly low?
Contact the supplier and report the reading, recent usage changes and any interruption to appliances. Do not wait solely because another delivery may be scheduled. Report an empty tank as a run-out.
